I really hope they give him more help at some point this year... and the sooner the better. Now that his play has taken a step forward, he deserves linemates that can keep up. If that means G has to go back to wing, fine.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see if we add a capable wing in a trade (maybe in a Simmer deal).

I think we'll be fine at C too but that doesn't mean we should put Patrick into a position where he has to produce or the season goes belly up, the way it did this year. Getting a top line winger who can produce offense on his own makes sure that doesn't happen.

G/Coots/TK
Lindblom/NP/V
JVR/Frost/?

Would be nice to add Silfverberg to the 3rd line. Or is that Farabee's spot? :sarcasm:

Of course adding Stone would rock and obviously push TK down. That would really stack the lines nice actually.

(I realize Frost at 3C right away might be pushing it.)

I definitely want to add a winger. Panarin or Stone would be fantastic.

I'd be shocked if we did before the end of the year.

In any Simmonds trade, I'd assume we're primarily getting picks or prospects because no team is going to give away a capable winger in a trade where their goal is to add a capable winger.

I think the only chance Patrick really has to get help is if Giroux goes back to wing (and then either Patrick on the top line with G/TK or replacing Couturier on the Lindblom/Voracek line) or if next year they bring in Frost on Patricks wing and maybe one of the college guys on the other side.

I guess we'll see. For all we know the next coach will completely scramble all the forwards and the lines will be something we haven't seen yet.

No way anyone values amac over Ghost. It would be a mistake to trade ghost. He’s not, but even as a specialist his contract and the rest of the D make that ok.

If we get one of those maybe. It would be dumb to trade for stone or Panarin and lose ghost when we could just sign them. If it is a sure bet Panarin is going signed to Florida or something and we can get him signed then I guess it would be worth it. No way you get the other guys without a major add.

I think Appleyard posted the flyers have the most players under 24 with 10 now. But are not the youngest team I guess. Maybe when amac and simmer are gone.

They are for sure the youngest team in the league now... average just over 25.5 in terms of the active roster... I dont think any other team average under 26.

Good points. Most likely a 1st/prospect for Simmer.

I think part of me still wonders (fears) Fletch will make more of a hockey move like some rumours suggest.

A new coach will tweak the lines I'm sure. I'm excited about next year anticipating/predicting how the forwards might look.

Adding Frost, NAK/Bailey, other rookie, FA, coach will be monumental in taking the next step :yo:

I think I prefer Duchene at $8M than Stone at $10M.

Or Marner at $10M on an offer sheet.

Duchene scares me more. He's highly skilled and adding him would make our offence scary. I still prefer Stone. I feel he's safer, younger and we have more need at wing IMO.

With the need at C around the league, I'd be surprised if he's that "cheap". I could be wrong though. My guess is they are similar in caphit.

Fun to speculate though

Did anyone here know that in Montreal Dale Weise is spelled De Louise? I think that´s funny.

Sorry in case this in an old story.

I can see Fletcher bringing in a veteran C at low cost for the rest of the season. Maybe a salary throw-in on a Simmonds trade.

Frost will be the 3C next year, that's why he was sent back to junior, to grow up so he could play with the Flyers next year instead of spending the season buried in the press box. He's too good for the AHL and shouldn't have a problem if they give him decent wingers.
