It's kind of odd. They have the cornerstone pieces to be, at the very least, a solid team.

An underrated issue on this board in regards to success is operational budgets. It really affects scouting.

Why is their October schedule so bad?

This is not a bad schedule at all. Check out the Oilers if you want to see a bad October schedule.

2016-17 : 43 games, 0.920
2017-18: 44 games, 0.913

He's been pretty good for them on that contract. I don't really understand your angle here.
He never wins games on his own. When we need a big save he almost always lets the team down. Instead of a game turning save it ends up in our net. Any 50/50 play always goes against us. He’s supposed to be a 1B but he’s more of a solid backup

Scouting has been fine. Decision making with picking too many forwards in the draft and screwing up the expansion draft/keeping d players together is on Tallon

Trochek and Barlov are wasting their careers. I hope both can get out of there sooner than later.

I'm well aware of the Oilers' schedule. They had a long break because they opened in Europe.

Florida didn't leave their own state for the first twelve days of the season and only played three games.

So Oilers' schedule is worse

You said their schedule is bad, I'm saying their schedule isn't really bad.

I caught OT last night, and if I remember correctly, he took the puck behind his own net, came to a complete stop, and then failed to escape a forechecker and ended up turning over the puck. I haven't seen a ton of the Panthers but it was a pretty ugly play for anyone to be making at the NHL level, especially in OT.

The Panthers had Petrovic on the ice in OT? :amazed:
