Through the first three rounds, Flint has approx. 5 of the top 57 picks (2nd, 28th, 42rd, 56th, and 57th). Might be a good idea to package a couple of these picks (cannot trade the 2nd pick) to move up in the 2nd round if they see someone they really want.

He did a real face plant into the boards competing for a loose puck in the 2nd period and wasn’t seen again in that game

Youll see some of the high end guys report to AHL this time of year. Theyll catch 1-2 games if any at all. I wouldnt read too much into it.

Well that's actually good news for me. I was listening to the OHLive feed as my kid watched it in the passenger seat as we drove home from another state. I was worried it could be concussion related. Ty has worried me over the last couple years with his penchant for putting himself in vulnerable situations. If he doesn't start protecting himself a little better, he runs the risk of developing long term concussion issues. There used to be a time where taking a run and/or laying out a Ty Dellandrea was a risky proposition for both parties involved. Not so any longer.

The smart people here knew it was over before Christmas, so I don't think anyone is that mad about it.

Kingston unloaded Robertson; you guys kept Dellandrea. Both teams’ fate was sealed from then on.

There might be a better chance of using a 3rd to acquire a 2nd in later drafts. It will take player movement just to squeeze 2-16 yr olds, fill the OA positions, and another import into Flint’s lineup next season.

For sure a team heading in the right direction make sure to sign that coach for a few years. He seemed to really have the boys buy in to what he was selling!

I'm obviously biased but it's hard not to view him as thee up and coming OHL coach. Make sure his next step is the AHL, not another OHL club.

Any word on whether or not Rolf will get the team back? Saw a post on the last forum that said he was. Is there any truth to this or just chatter? Is everyone coming back next year? Coaches, GM, etc.

Rolf himself told me he was getting control of the team back this offseason and seemed pretty confident when he said it. It seems likely with Hakon graduating. Wellwood has openly discussed next season and people close to him I've talked to discussed next year with me and how he views Flint as one of the places you'd want to be if you were a young OHL player. I think it's safe to assume he's here for at least one more season, likely two and possibly longer. Branch, I've heard nothing about but I'd like to see Rolf's first move be to find a young, qualified GM that Wellwood approves of. I wouldn't mind seeing Joe Stefan promoted either

Speaking of Joe Stefan...anybody know why he hasn't ever been given the GM spot? He's been the Asst GM for countless GMs now, but hasn't ever been promoted to GM. What gives???

I have wonder the same thing. Would like to see him get a chance if its something he wants. Maybe not a position he wants.

Seem to recall back when Burnett took the Guelph job we asked him if he was going to be the GM and he was a little coy about it but basically indicated he was happy doing what he was doing. Of course he could have just been playing it cool knowing Branch Sr was sending Jr to do the job. He's a good guy. I don't think he would ever say anything negative if he were passed over. Doesn't seem to be his style at all. I'm not misremebering that am I savard?

In that case lets Veto Joe Stefan out of hand because seriously we know Rolf will corrupt him in minutes. Hell he's probably getting fitted with horns an a tail just at the mention of him in the GM job.
