Rittich was sub 900 before this game, its not like he's been lights out until now. Whats the expectation when he has to play against NHL competition?

What context does there need to be? Its a little concerning your backups are doing poorly even if its preseason.
Rittich had 1 bad game. He played well after that tonight he's been hung out to dry. It's not hard to f***ing understand

The f*** is taking so long for this review?

Sharks player literally cross checks Rittich in the face while he is 18 inches in the blue paint, not to mention there is another Shark player in the blue paint at the same time.

and they score.

Rittich getting lit up like a Christmas tree though it was another break away.

It wasn't too long ago that Hiller, Ramo and Ortio had phenomenal pre-seasons only to all disappear once the season started.

Last year Smith was terrible in pre-season but started the regular season on fire.

Don't over think this.

The Flames just need to cut the marginals and start practicing with the main squad more or less and get familiar with Peters' system.

Stats still matter. This guy is playing against AHL level competition and is performing mediocre. This is our starter if Smith goes down...

And holy shit that was another weak goal. I expect lots of cuts on the defense tonight, but man I need someone to give me confidence about our net situation.

No, stats don't matter to anyone but fans that can't comprehend that context matters

Shades of last preseason where the race for the #6 position was determined by who sucked the least.

People can (and will) blame Rittich, but the defensive coverage has been CHL level bad out there. 1 clear cut break away, 2 on 1 partial break, PP goal against with no defensive coverage, he has had no chance for these goals.

This is pretty much a period where you just burn the tape. Almost nothing has gone right.

That being said, Andersson is really good and needs to be in the NHL.

Rasmus was supposed to come in and battle for the #6 spot, instead he has solidified the #5 spot and battling for #4 spot and the #6 spot is, as of now, going to be a tire fire. Move Rasmus up with Noah and put Hammer down on the 3rd pairing with who knows at this point.

Terrible period all around. One of the backups has to get their shit together and have more than one good game for my sanity. Cut most of the prospects and only leave the most NHL ready ones and the roster players.

Has Hammer been that bad? I've noticed that Hanifin has been good, but don't know with his partner right now.
