Looking to dash my fool's hope (hey if we beat out Vancouver and Montreal we should still be okay!) as fool's hope is common with most long term Flames fans, so bear with me.
Someone check my math, but it looks like the only way the Flames can (realistically) have a chance to make ploffs is
- Winning all 3 remaining games against Montreal, in regulation.
- Winning 3 of 4 against Vancouver*
- Winning 8 of their next 11
All three criteria must be met, the guaranteed losses to Edm and Ott will make that feat challenging at best.
This is assuming it will take .557 points percentage to make it, and that those teams perform as they are so far (ie: no massive winning or losing streaks).
*(I lost my spreadsheet partway - they may need 4/4 against Van)
