Anderson just wouldn't do as well in Calgary.

He's not available, so it doesn't matter. But I don't think you know Josh Anderson's game if you think it's system dependent. He scores his goals by running over the opposition, causing turnovers, with blazing speed and a bullet of a shot. He could score with any linemates.

Bobrovsky would really solve the Flames' goalie issues. That said this trade probably won't happen. Not when Calgary can sign Bobrovsky for nothing in the offseason.

The fact that people dont see this as bad for the CBJ confuses me... its giving up things we shouldnt for things we dont need... any trade involving a D or a goalie thats contract that doesnt end after this year is bad for us. We literally have a loaded goalie pool and D when healthy is stacked plus Gavrikov coming over next year. It just makes 0 sense regardless of if its good or not for Calgary thats another discussion but to say CBJ get anything out of this is incorrect.

Would it be possible to get someone other than Andersson of similar but not necessarily equal value?

Heck, what about a deal around just Bobrovsky for a prospect, Mike Smith, and a conditional pick based on if Bob re-signs?
