From yesterday:
Matt Larkin ‏@THNMattLarkin
(1/2) Spoke to still-unsigned Dennis Seidenberg. Says he has interest already from teams, but they want to see him healthy in World Cup ...

Matt Larkin ‏@THNMattLarkin
(2/2) Seidenberg also said teams eying him want to see how their own bluelines play out in rookie camps and such first.

Would gladly welcome him on the sabres for a low cost. Would hopefully allow us to move that Franson guy out for whatever minimal return we could find.

Whoever signs him is going to get value, IMO. He's lost a few steps, but the Bruins worked him like a old donkey on the 2nd pair right up until he collapsed. On a cheap contract, playing 3rd pair mins, it's going to be like a sunny vacation for Seidenberg. He'll make a nice babysitter for some young #6. Sheltered mins are going to do wonders for him.

The Bruins should have moved on a few years ago from both Seidenberg and Chara carrying kids on the top 2 pairs, logging tuns of mins, the way they used to...neither are capable of it anymore.

One way or another, he's at least a nice depth piece for someone to have for peanuts.

He knows how to play defense...a lost art, these days.

Id be happy to add him for a year.

Giordano - Brodie
Jokipakka - Hamilton
Seidenberg - Wideman

*Engelland/Wotherspoon
Smid to LTIR

Preferably one of Wideman/Engelland is moved and Wotherspoon is kept as the #6/#7 d-man.

Calgary is also bringing in D Nicklas Grossmann on a (PTO).
Grossmann played with the Arizona Coyotes last season.
I can't see Grossmann making the Flames roster out of training camp, Grossmann is shot and he is a very slow skater. Grossmann should either return to Sweden to play in the SHL or just retire from playing pro hockey.

pretty decent game today, he'll get signed but probably gonna look for that 2 years contract instead of 1 year stint imo

Not even close to what he once was due to injuries and age, but could play a role if given limit minutes on the 3rd pairing for short money on a one year deal if he's willing to take that.
