At the end of February last year, Gaudreau had 82 points. In other words, he'd need 25 points in the next seven games to get back to that level.

Likewise, Monahan had 69 points at that point. He'd need 29 points in the rest of this month to match that.

Now, if my rudimentary math skills haven't failed me entirely, that's at minimum, an additional 29 goals, which if added to this year's total, would give the team a plus 21 goal differential, and no doubt, a whole lot more wins.

They weren't bad defensively 5v5. Expected goals were 2.88 vs 2.02 after score effects.

PP was ineffective and penalty kill was outright bad (despite the shorty) but we are missing our two best PKing D in Gio and Hamonic (Say what you will about Hamonic 5v5 but he's a PK specialist for sure)
