Gents...

I've emailed around some offers - but in case I've missed someone -

I am looking to move Michael Ryder. In return I want a similar player, similar age, ratings, stats, potential, salary, but must be able to play C or LW.

I've searched and searched, and have been unable to find an 'official' site to move Iggy, Hejduk or Ryder to C or LW - so I am testing this potential.

thanks

Matthew

Does hockeydb count? I am only asking because I don't thinkt hat they ever u pdate their positions. For instance, Jason Blake is listed at center, a position he hasn't played for several years.

Hockeydb is absolutely NOT allowed for position changes. Once the player is created in their db (usually when drafted) the position is never updated.

Sorry, Matt...I tried to help!!!

As a sidenote, did anyone notice that, about two years ago, WayMoreSports really tightened up on the number of positions that players could play? For example, guys like Chris Drury are veritable Swiss Army Knives in real life, yet WayMoreSports now says he can only play center. :shakehead

No Problem, I appreciate it Matt. I've tried the hockeydb route last season to change Prospal back to C, so I already knew that it wasn't accepted. Strange thing is, most websites like the NHL, NHLPA etc. do now list him at C again this season, even though it seems to me that he has only played LW since he returned to the TBL. It's an inexact science for sure.

The HFNHL rule book quotes:

A player's default position can be changed, but reasonable proof that the player plays the "new" position must be presented. This proof must come from a league approved website. These include:

http://www.tsn.ca
http://www.espn.com
http://www.nhl.com
http://www.nhlpa.com

The "FORECASTER" (tsn, the star, score.ca, hockeynews, sportsnet.ca (though sportsnet has a different layout) seems to be the most accurate.. even moreso than nhl.com which often seems to get it wrong.

Are there any other sites that the league would consider?

Options include:

www.cnnsi.com
wikipedia
'official' team sites
cbs sportline

Am I missing any?

And then on our not acceptable list:

www.hockeydb.com
