Ok didn't read the rules. Will later, I thought it was just naming who you thought would score the first goal. Barzal at ES was my 1st assumption. Darn if I put Barzal first I would have hit?

Yes. The game is structured so that the darkhorses are chosen among those less likely to score, whereas regular scorers are those whom you would expect goals from. Things change during the season so the ineligibles won't remain the same all the way. For example, if Eberle continues to be out, someone else will take his place very shortly.
