Getting to be a trend, NHL teams landing the next "big" top free agent from overseas only to see that player sputter out early on.

Shipachyev last season, and now this guy.

Hell, I guess it's not new, there's probably be one for every year in the past decade, maybe more.

No big deal.

Yeah, I guess that's why Magnitka is keeping import spot open for him.

Allright, ill admit that was a slight exaggeration. What i meant was that he his play dropped off a bit compared to the previous seasons. Might have been a result of the olympics tho.

How about guys like Kalinin or Mamin and even Nichushkin for that matter who signed NHL contracts without ever scoring at least 30 points in the KHL?

The question is not about 30 points, it's about regressing by 30 points in a "worse" league than NHL. Did any of those who got a contract have a career lowest season in the past 10 years before signing?
