Poor kid crouched down right before the hit, total accident yet refs boot Keith out the game.

I agree. It was a 2 minute minor for boarding at most. The optics of the kid bleeding and Keith's reaction tell you that was an accident.

On the 5 min major there was no one in the box, when the 5 minutes was up no one could come out of the box so I'm not sure what the rule is there but the Hawks just kept 4 guys on for another few minutes.

That's on the refs and the Hawks. If you kick a guy you make sure someone is serving it.

If nobody served it...you just put a guy on the ice.
