What players?

Laughton isn't a NHL caliber center, Filppula isn't a NHL center, so who is your 3rd and 4th center?
Weal is a fail as a 3rd line winger, Raffl is a 4th line checker at this point . . .
Lindblom couldn't handle 2nd line responsibilities in the playoffs and so on.

Same on defense, one 1st pairing and 4 3rd pair defensemen (no Sanheim would not play on the 2nd pair for a good team right now).
And yet the coach replaced Travis Konecny and his 36 points over the second half the season for that 4th line checker on the first line to end the season and start off the playoffs.

homer is lurking just waiting until the team is ready to win the cup. then he's gonna swoop in like lamarello and fire hex and hak. he will appoint himself coach gm and grand poobah win the cup and be hailed as the hero that brought the cup back to philly.

I love Hextall's handling of the fans' criticism of Hakstol - don't bite the hand that feeds you. It indicates that he knows he has a long leash because really, there is a more diplomatic way to say what he said without insulting the fanbase.

I hate that we hire beloved former players - creating the opportunity to tarnish their legacy

Carter-Richard trades were great and then Homer's lack of cap awareness had us all turn on him. Hextall's first two years got us all excited, but the loyalty and pro scouting might be his downfall.

Homer didn't have to worry about a tight salary cap, and he was able to buy his way out of his first wave of mistakes. But he stripped the talent pipeline, and when Pronger went down it was all over for the decade.
