This is a bit off topic, but I am curious if there's any Finnish expats on this site that are using the TvKaista service? Or are there any other services that you use in order to keep up to date with what's going on at home (other than your typical news sites)?

I heard that it has filed for bankruptcy and will be going offline fairly soon.
Would be a shame if this is true.

It's an excellent service, especially during the world juniors, skoda cup, and most recently olympics. Being able to watch all the games in Finnish, instead of waking up at 3am to watch them in Mexico on some poor stream that is full of pop ups.

Cheers!

We did use it for a short period, it was ok, good value I would say, but nothing outstanding.

Since then I have a large satellite dish and a rather special box to get me the Finnish channels (and Swedish, Danish and Norwegian).

Where have you heard TVKaista has gone bankrupt? Did it have a lot of pending court case action?

Thanks for the replies guys!

Yes, I wish satellite was an option in Mexico or Canada.

Otherwise, TVkaista is a much cheaper option.

Let's see what happens with it in the future.
