Mostly yes. I think McIlrath is too high, Fast too low and I would reorder some of the groupings, but in general the list is representative of how I rank our prospects.

I'd like to see people put up their rankings here. This way they can have bragging rights or eat crow (who's scared?) when we look bad at this in the years to come.

Here's what my rankings would look like:

* Put Buch over Duke because he's playing in the adult league at the age of 18 and is very successful there, including a stint this week on the top line. Played well for the strong Russian team.

** Not a huge fan of Kristo based on what I've seen so far, so I buried him at #10. May drop him further unless he picks up his overall game.

*** Undertaker over Skjei because his size is so unique that he would be an irreplaceable part of the team if he reaches his potential.

I think I like Kristo more than you do, but interestingly he fell in the same spot. Some other thoughts:

- I think Buchnevich and Duclair will both be in the top 5 this time next year.
- Nieves could be lower given his year, but I was SO impressed with him last year that I'm giving him some slack.
- Really looking forward to seeing Graves and Donnay play in the AHL. I think we'll get a much better read on them when they do.
- Hrivik pains me - I really liked him. Another sputtering forward I lay at Gernander's feet.
- Same with Yogan, although I didn't expect him to produce as much offense as Hrivik.
- I want to rank Andersson higher given the skillset, but it's hard to justify for an offensive defenseman with 10 points in the 2nd league in Sweden.
- I genuinely think Kantor's got a shot at becoming a fourth line regular in the NHL.
- I am REALLY down on St. Croix. I just don't think he's got the compete level.
- Ryan Bourque is a solid player for what he is - but he is what he is at this point. If he had more size, he could be a useful NHL fourth liner, but as it is, I think he's maxed out on his development and we'll never see him suit up for the Rangers.

Is kreider still really a prospect?

The way I rated the prospects are a combination of NHL upside and time to arrival at the NHL level. I think all of these guys are worth a look in a A at some point in the next 3-4 years if the Rangers have their rights for the prospects without minor pro experience.

I think their time on arrival here is largely dependent on physical maturity and team need. I fully expect the entire top 10 to see NHL ice. After that, there is a drop off. Future call ups mostly, but then there are guys that can surprise.

Maybe Buchnevich does that in 2 years. Michael Kantor will earn himself a look. Conor Allen is going to push for ice time if he hasn't already in the organization's eyes. Oscar Lindberg will be a regular by next mid-season.

There is enough depth in the organization that the Rangers can make a splash and trade for big name to fill a need, and the prospects make that happen. I look at Fast, Kristo, Skjei, Yogan and Bourque as tradable assets as of this deadline. Brassard, Moore, and 1-2 of the UFAs to be at the NHL level. The Rangers could swing for a big game player.

Is kreider still really a prospect?

For the sake of uniformity, we just use HF's prospect guidelines. At the time voting began, Kreider was under the 65 NHL games threshold, so he was still considered a prospect. Now, he's up to 70, so he's technically graduated. You couldn't guarantee that would happen when the voting began though, so you had to include him.

I waver a bit on some of the guys, particularly in the middle. For instance, when we began voting, I probably had Kristo and Nieves a couple spots higher. Skapski and Allen would have been lower coming into the year as well, but they've both had nice seasons and really impressed me.

The list we voted on is pretty close to what I have. I don't see anything in our rankings that strikes me as completely unreasonable.

My ranking would be just based on how likely I think they are to be NHL players and from there how good I think they could be.

Would have switched Kristo and Lindberg, Yogan was about 3 spots too low (Should have been ahead of Hrivik) and Bourque is too low.
But overall it's a pretty good list.
