Oiler highest scoring team in league, why would they need to overpay for Forsberg? Use assets for a goalie without a weak high glove

Because Edmonton can not spell gooltnder or gawltenter er stopper ya know. But seriously for the life of me it is baffling why they just never address the guy between the pipes. Heck they could have used one of there many number 1 overalls and got the guy of there choice by draft or trade either developed or raw and brought him up.
