Don’t buy into the pathetic media circus around him. The lad’s done little wrong. Liverpool fan starts need to learn to forgive and forget.

I will be pulling for Iceland, though I know they have no real shot. I will then be pulling for Belgium, Denmark, Morocco, and Argentina. I think England will underachieve as usual.

I could get on board with France. I just put a shekel on Griezmann to win the Golden Ball. Still shocked they blew the Euro '16 (at home) against Portugal, even after Ronaldo exited.

I am too, it made me sick, but they won the big one on home soil when it really mattered ;) I wish every World Cup was even a fraction as great as that 1998 tournament - it was just spectacular.

Woooo! We don’t have to qualify in 2026!

Although it’s kind of wild travel wise to have those matches spread out across USA, Canada, and Mexico. Big difference between something like France, Spain, Portugal.

It really is super long overdue, especially with the stadia the UK can offer.

Yep. They could announce it today and we could host it tomorrow. It makes me so mad. Nothing since 1966.

I really really think that England, Italy and Netherlands/Belgium should have gotten a chance to host before a 2nd turn for the U.S. but what's done is done...

I'm sure they were thinking about how it will help grow the sport in the US, so bowing down to the almighty dollar instead of making a sporting decision. I don't like it.

yep-in line with their bizarre Qatar decision [$$$, bribes, etc.]

no need to "grow" the game in markets like UK/Italy/Netherlands, so no world cups for you to host.

It makes sense in a financial basis and for the long-term future of the game, but Germany got it recently so why not us? I hear we're going to be bidding for the next two, it'll be madness if we don't get it.

How does the USA look headed into the tourney? Can the team put out a good showing in group stages to look quasi-relevant? Is the USA almost on the verge of attracting enough talent to be a good team?

If not the USA, is Italy bringing a good squad to challenge?
