FOX getting the rights to the 2026 World Cup without even a bid was always suspicious (in fact I think AwfulAnnouncing reported that FIFA lost money on that deal in order to avoid a lawsuit for moving the 2022 World Cup to the winter), now it looks like they bribed FIFA well before

Even though I can't stand ESPN 90% of the time they do a much better job covering international football/soccer than FOX. FOX didn't even bother sending most of its announcing crew to Russia for the World Cup ffs
