I think it will happen eventually. Sort of like how Roy mended things in Montreal. But it might take a little more time for those wounds to heal for some in Detroit.

Not all first-ballad hall of famers, but here are 2 from the same draft

1980, Oilers drafted Paul Coffey in round 1 and Jari Kurri in round 4

1971, Canadiens drafted Guy Lafleur in round 1, and Larry Robinson in round 2.

1974, Islanders drafted Clark Gillies in round 1, and Bryan Trottier in round 2.

Depressingly Bure should also be on that list for the Wings making it 3... The NHL screwed us on that, injuries cost him an almost assured first ballot entry.

He was not first ballot, but that is the thing about the 1989 draft, it was that great and they actually turned in a draft card for Pavel Bure and were told no. We also don't know what would have happened with Konstantinov.
