Is this the same guy who thought fans fighting was totally fine or was that another Russian FA member?

Odds on them being expelled from their own tournament in a couple years?

I've gotten a huge kick from the irony of English people complaining about another country's hools. Hope the Russian NT n FA don't stop trolling.

Smolov is a player...and the odds of that happening are less than zero.

That's not new though. That was true back in the soviet era as well; it's just Russia being Russia. But the effect is trolling the Brits.

LOL MMMK, take your facist supporters Smolov and send them back to the Gulags thanks. The common denominator is your fans ability to act more ape than human.

The worst part of all this is all the self hating westerners who sympathize with the Russian hooligans. Whatever, remember kids down the road, not across the street.

It would be hard to rebut Smolov's contention if you base it on the legendary behavior of English hooligan fans, who have caused riots and bloodshed all over the globe. If you aren't familiar with English hooliganism, you can't have been paying attention to Euro football.

I think this is the problem for English fans. Everyone remembers what they were like in the 70s and 80s and the reputation stuck. They aren't anywhere near that bad any more, yet hooligans from other countries still want to "prove" themselves against people who mostly don't care.

Based on video footage of English fans coming across the stadium seats to get at the Russian fans, it looked like they cared.

Uh what? It was Russians trying to get at the English inside the stadium, hence why Russia were given a suspended disqualification and England were not.

Thinking english hooliganism is from the 70s and 80s is misconception. Though not on as bad a scale, they're still causing trouble almost every time. (which doesn't make russians any more innocent)

Oh for sure, no argument there. I'm just old enough to remember when it was worse. Smashing up Luxembourg of all places.

Despite England still having a following of far too many stupid and violent supporters, Smolov made a stupid comment, since he obviously tried to defend far too many stupid and violent Russian supporters. Is that really so difficult to grasp that one has to read about some perceived Cold War era prejudices here? Don't we have enough stupid parties in this matter already?
