Up on the blog tonight. 2012, 2013 draft crop shines at U17

Future Consdierations said:
With the IIHF World Junior Championship taking most of the media limelight over the holidays the other big holiday hockey tournament that draws the majority of the attention from NHL scouts during that time, the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, also wrapped up in Winnipeg, MB.

...

With all the skilled forwards on hand, the tournaments leading scorer believe it or not was Team Pacific defenseman Matt Dumba, who plays with Red Deer in the WHL.

FC provides a small glimps at some of the top talent in Winnipeg below:

#2 D Slater Koekkoek – Team Ontario
Left Shot / 6’-2†/ 185 Lbs / Peterborough (OHL)
Eligible: 2012 NHL Entry Draft
Scouting Report: A strong skating defender…has good agility and quickness for his size…thinks the game with an offensive mind…uses his size well...

If you were in Winnipeg or Portage for any or all of these game let hear your take. As always please post your comments.

Thanks for posting. A good report.

Great to see some love for Morgan Rielly, the kid is going to be a very very good NHL defenseman.

Charles hudon might be the best 16yo player in the qmjhl since Sidney Crosby in 2003. had a slow start but he's on fire since november. 12 pts game streak (22pts in that streak) and he's playing for a bad team with average linemate

Btw, reason why i didnt mention esposito (as the best 16yo in the qmjhl) its because he was playing with Radulov and Melanson and Hudon is playing with Lebel and Blanchette....
