It would be funny reading the original Neal trade thread now that Horny is voted the 3rd most popular player of the Sid/Geno era haha
I was thinking about that the other day. I remember complaining that we didn't get enough value in return.

In hindsight, we should have told them to keep Spaling.

I liked the trade at the time but still think that. Perception of Neal as far superior to Hornqvist was wrong, but existent, back then and trade return is a matter of perception and leverage. We probably had the edge in leverage, too. Nashville was in a position in which they needed a Big Name at forward. The Penguins needed a retool, but not specifically on Malkin's wing.

Don't get me wrong--I wouldn't trade Hornqvist to get Neal back, but I do think JR could have squeezed more of a throw-in out of David Poile than Spaling (who I also don't particularly dislike).

Anyways, the answer to this poll is still Roberts.

My top right now and it's so difficult every time...

Murray, Cully, Sarge, and Hags. This is freaking difficult.
