I was just reminded of the fact that Larry Wilson, father of Ron Wilson, served as interim coach of the Red Wings in 76-77. Are there any other father-son pairs who both coached in the NHL?

I can think of several GMs who are the sons of NHL coaches (John Ferguson, Jr., Ray Shero, Stan Bowman, etc.) but no other coaches who meet that criteria.

The Patricks sent three generations to NHL bench jobs, Lester, Lynn and Craig. All of 'em coached the Rangers at some point as well.

Yeah, I feel really stupid not thinking of them. I was just checking on them and Lester had another son Muzz Patrick who also coached the Rangers.

Not yet but it could eventually happen with the Dineens-Bill, who coached the Flyers in the 90's and Kevin who has been rumoured for many a NHL coaching job the past few years.
