I took a look yesterday at the BC from the UWM Panther Arena windows. The view hasn't changed from the south.

Not much left of the Bradley Center.

Two out of three arenas ain't bad.

Those being the UWM Panther Arena, where the real Admirals play, and the Fiserv Forum, where the Bucks play.

There is also MSOE with their basement hockey arena in the Kern Center in downtown, although that is the practice arena for the Admirals.

The last 2 small standing pieces of the Bradley Center came down today. You can see them in AF24's pictures.

Now, it is a vacant lot for the Bucks. It is amazing what 3 billionaires can do when they put their heads together.

It is projected to be a plaza extension for the Bucks, with maybe a hotel at the far end after the Democrat's 2020 convention.

Surprised that building lasted as long as it did. Opened the same year as the Charlotte Coliseum (the one built for the first-era Hornets) but that building became obsolete by the late 90's.

The overseers for the BC spent the last 5 years trying to fix the building. It was little things like maintaining hot water supply and scoreboard etc. They could not do anything about 10K seats upstairs and 8K seats downstairs.

So I guess demolition was cheaper than flipping the building upside down?

In a word, yes! The old venue lacked Club Seats by court side and room for any special clubs or lounges. The arena floor wasn't big enough to allow them. The 100 level seats had only 3 rows on the sides and maybe 5 or 6 rows on the ends for basketball. They were removed for hockey.

The luxury suites at the BC were at the mid level (300) only. I assume that the new arena has some at the bottom level, what would be equal to the 100/200 levels at the BC. The 10K seats were in the 400 level. If you were up in a corner, you were a long way from the basketball court or hockey rink, both horizontally and vertically. There were probably 4000 seats that had a better view of the action by looking at the Jumbotron out of the 17.845 for hockey.

So the Mecca outlasted the Bradley Center. You can never tear down the Mecca because I shot the puck there during intermission of an Admirals game as a youth in the early 80s I'm sure it has national heritage status now.

I probably saw you. It has been the UWM Panther Arena for 5 years. There is a bronze plaque outside, but it is about qwerty typewriters.

Welcome to HFboards!

That must be the refrigerator logo jerseys!

Thanks, Chris!

I have been going to Admirals games since 1981 (38 years!), but there are other fans who started with the team.
