Fantasy Value: Voracek vs. Van Riemsdyk

In a keeper league where points are awarded for points and PIMs, who would you pick?

I'm thinking Voracek is the safer bet, but Van Riemsdyk has the potential to be a true power forward who would get as many points as Voracek and a lot more PIMs.

Any Thoughts?

I think they'll both become regular NHLers, but I'm with you on Voracek being a safer bet. I think he'll put up more points, but Van Riemsdyk will have the edge in PIM

Me too...he's, IMO, the best player of the draft. He has everything to become a dominent player. Voracek will be good, and maybe more valuable on some points, but he'll not put that many points on the board...

it all depends what you are looking for, Voracek will most likely go straight to the NHL, while JVR is headed to UNH this fall to play at least 1 year.
I think both players are going to be good pros, they are just going to take differant routes.

If you want to take a risk go with JvR.

If you want a guy who is a safer pick for you overall go with Voracek.

JvR has much larger upside but also a larger bust potential.
