Alright I did a thing.. It's not NHL 20, or even Eastside Hockey Manager, but it's Hockey Legacy Manager 20 which is a fun mobile app I've used for a while and quite enjoy. Not as in-depth as the other two games, but it does the trick and is quite similar. With that being said! I put way more time into this than a normal person should, but I have the results! They're pretty surprising in some areas. Insanely balanced because of the similar skill levels of teams.

Happy to see it so close still. Totally fine if they lose by a bit. Proved all the non-believers wrong already
in a vacuum for that matchup I'm really leaning Washington but not being the one to switch my vote

Washington might pull off the upset......... it's a one vote swing right now

Washington really is the team that I’m “cheering” for (if we can even call it that). Despite his self imposed limitations on building an all Swede team, m0pe did a hell of a job. Knowingly or unknowingly, he built one of the most defensively sound teams out there that still has enough offensive punch to hurt teams.

Yeah, he chose the right European country lol. That team turned out to be better than I expected, especially considering that he got sniped a few times during the draft as well

Thanks guys. I knew going in a really strong defensive team was the goal and the only way to stand a chance.

Really wish I didn't JUST miss out on guys like Eriksson-Ek, Hagelin, etc. Would have made my depth a lot better.

Think in next one I am just going to try and build the best team with NO restrictions so I can see how I do.

Well :canes is upset with the result, but it was a close vote between those who participated in the draft (8v9) just didn't have the bigger names to intrigue public voters I guess

Regardless I think it was a decent showing for my first draft, and we'll be back stronger than ever in the future!

Good luck to those who remain!

All russians doesnt work. I tried.

Trying to simultaneously build a team for now while eyeing the future (in terms of taking expiring contracts and cap hits into consideration) doesn’t work either. f*** man. I kind of want another shot as this! While I’m happy for some guys that they made the playoffs, I’m also feeling a bit bitter like guys like Panda and LatvianTwist. I got my eyes on redemption and would love to have another go at this, lol. Just building the best team possible with no self imposed limitations.

Yeah I think I could do much better on a second go. I looked for fancy picks too much

Washingtons going to do it man, Robin Lehner will drag them through this. @m0pe if you win this whole thing I'll genuinely be so happy after how many people sniped your picks

Yeah, I think most of us feel that way. If I was to make a suggestion to @Joey Moss , it would be to see on who is interested in doing the exact same thing (this exact same draft format) a 2nd time around.
I feel like it'd be sos similar though, no one would even really need their own draft board either

First off, I love that you did this.

But second, what are the player ratings? Is there a database to scrutinize?

And personally, how does Hellebuyck compare to Rask? Are Strome and Danault barely-adequate 2Cs? Is Buchnevich a middle sixer? Is Nichushkin a tweener? I am pretty darn confident that my team wouldn't concede 265 if NYR only conceded 221.

The ratings like any other game are hit or miss at points, but I wasn't about to go through all of them and adjust for what I thought they should be so I left them as is.

I know without a reference point this probably doesn't help a ton, but Helle was 87 to Rask's 88. Danault/Strome at 85/84 respectively (which seems close to fair IMO) Nichushkin/Buch at 77/83 are ones that I definitely would've raised but if you start you have to do them all. Everyone had guys like that though.

Overall it's an imperfect science, but it's just for fun anyway.

Sorry @m0pe but as a Rangers fan, seeing Jesper Fast on the first line gave me PTSD and I couldn't vote for the Tre Kronor
