Figured we could at least start discussing ideas for the inevitable next draft.

    A few I had:
    • 32 teams with a 32-team playoff bracket arranged before the draft
    • Drafting for three categories: win now, win in 5 years, best drafter (so prospects without a contract would be available, but maybe not 2020 and beyond picks)
    • No trades involving picks, but trades involving players only are allowed starting after the conclusion of round 5
    • A 70M cap, but it does not apply to anyone who takes on a legitimate restriction and discloses it beforehand (if you break your restriction at any point, the cap will apply and it will become 65M for these GMs)
    Any other ideas?

I like the idea of knowing before, we’d see people building to face off with each other, could combine that with player only trades

    I’ll be in tho

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of the 32-team playoff bracket thing, but knowing the matchups beforehand will help us draft to matchup better against other teams.

The 70 million cap might be a bit harsh, I don't know.

    But I'd be in regardless.

I'd have to think about this one. I'm never a fan of "win in 5 years" because there's really not much to base that off. It's more opinionated than a win this year type draft.

The trading players thing I like. The cap and voting thing seems odd.

I say we just have a contending cup and a rebuilders one.

A rebuilder’s option is more what I was thinking, I just worded it differently. Basically more “who has the brightest future”.

The cap thus far hasn’t affected much at all. I’d like to see it be more of a challenge.

The voting also makes much more sense to me given the insane parity in this games.

Picking standings based on arbitrary divisions is rough as a voter, at least for me. I have difficulty ranking some two-team matchups, much less 7-8.

If a contender/rebuilder draft, the cap shoudn't be lowered.

The rebuilder wills take all the ELCs while contenders have stronger overall teams / more high quality players / a higher overall salary.

I agree in the normal game cap has been almost a non-factor (I haven't cared about cap ONCE and I have 15m left for 4 players), but in this type of game I am not sure it would be the case.

Either way, whatever idea gets going you know I will be in to defend my inevitable crown.

Pretty much the team that wins best future will have absolutely no one relevant to this year it always plays out like that.

For me voting for the best futures team will be a mix of prospects and already established young guys not just strait up high pick.

Also, I like the lower cap. Cap management will be an actual factor in this game

actually i dont know about rebuilder games....

they always end up so ridiculous where a few teams have every prospect in the game. its not realistic at all.

I’m in but I’m only drafting for win now. I only know about the popular prospects and don’t really care to learn about the non-blue chip ones lol.

@Tryamkin would wreck us all in a prospects draft

I think this is gonna turn into like 20+ of us just drafting to win now so kinda a super draft while Tryamkin schools the prospect draft on the side.
