RULES: Each poll will remain open for 2 days. In the case of a tie within the top 10, I'll create a 1-day runoff poll to decide the winner. Ties outside of the top 10 will be let stand as ties. For each additional poll, I will add the most commented next to add prospect.

ELIGIBILITY: All players whose rights are held by the Buffalo Sabres and who are eligible to win the Calder Trophy for the 2021-22 season are eligible inclusion. That means a prospect is eligible if--
  • He is under age 26 (as of September 15, 2021);
  • He has played no more than 25 games in any single preceding season; and
  • He has not played 6 or more games in each of any two or more preceding seasons.
NEXT TO ADD: Comment the player you want to see added to the next poll. The following players are eligible:
  • Forwards: Matteo Costantini, Stiven Sardaryan, Aaron Huglen, Viljami Marjala, William Von Barnekow, Jakub Konecny, Tyson Kozak, Vasily Glotov, Brandon Biro
  • Defensemen: Casey Fitzgerald, Miska Kukkonen, Linus Cronholm, Filip Nyberg, William Worge Kreu, Albert Lyckasen

I know some of these guys inevitably won't pan out as we hope but having Laaksonen as a possible #13 best prospect on top of 3 1st this year is really freaking exciting. We have so much up and coming young talent.

We are certainly in a different spot depth wise than we were when we drafted Jack in 2015.

I made an allusion to this before we kicked off these polls:

Right now, I can picture all of our top 15ish prospects of at least having a few cups of coffee in the NHL.....and as of my typing this, everyone getting 2 votes or more in this poll qualifies in that in my eyes. So that's 18 guys that I see as quite likely to at least see some NHL games. Certainly not all of them will develop into regulars. But holy hell are we giving ourselves enough chances.

I voted Rousek and I think he would get more votes and be higher if he didn't under-go ACL surgery. Often times players are never the same but I feel that kid had some serious potential.

Yeah, ngl, I love the depth of our prospect pool right now.

I think we just have to hope Rousek doesn't end up like Gustav Possler. Both looked really promising before their injuries.

It's becoming clear that the Sabres are very deep in prospects/young players (U25) at both G, D and F.

The only thing lacking in the system is sure-fire first line forwards. Perhaps something the next draft or two will rectify.
