Faceoffs

Pretty simple question but , are there such a tie on the face off circle? Does every time the puck is dropped, is a face off win awarded to one of the centers? Or when they are all scrambled and players fall on pucks and when winger move in etc, is it ever just not recorded?

Also what constitutes a face off win? I've seen a puck get "won" in a center skates but the opposing centers takes it and advances....


Anyone know?
