First off, we would like to thank Benn and Jamie for their efforts in helping the team to make back to back conference finals. We have very high hopes for these three young players, and think that for the two forwards in particular going to Minnesota will open up a variety of new opportunities. Watching McGinn and Clutterbuck wreck havoc on opposing defenseman will certainly be enjoyable, providing, they aren't our teams d-men.

It was difficult to give up five young assets, and three tremendous people, however, Brent Burns was among our top targets, and we are most definitely in win now mode. We needed to add a variety of attributes to our back-end, and Burns is one of the rare d-men who could fulfill them all. His first pass, skating, point shot, and physicality and leadership are all excellent, and we believe he does satisfy the missing piece for this San Jose team.
