:edmonton The Edmonton Oilers are proud to announce the signing of a former Edmonton Oiler in Georges Laraque. Laraque is a character guy in peak physical shape and we were willing to offer him the chance to reintroduce himself as a fighter in this league. The perameters of the deal are a one year, two way contract valued at $550k/55k.

I swore I JUST posted this.. but it is not here. So...

Eric Tangradi 2 years 1.4M (700k/yr). Very excited to have Eric a Canuck. We feel Pittsburgh slipped up big time not signing this young player who has a ton of potential. We'll give him a big shot to make our Top 6 as Kesler is injured, Tangradi will compete with Schroeder to fill in at #2 C for a couple months, and then move down to our 3rd/4th line.

Byron Bitz - 1 year @ 650k, 2 way 150k AHL salary.
Aaron Rome- 2 years @750k. Rome is a Vancouver fanbase subject of scrutiny, but last season he proved he is very valuable as a depth defensemen, he knows our system better then a FA would, and can play left, or right side minutes in a pinch.

The Ottawa Senators are pleased to announce that the club has signed forward Lee Stempniak to a 1 year, $1.75M deal. Lee potted 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 61 games on a mediocre Flames club last season. He will have the opportunity to play alongside Jason Spezza and Martin Havlat.

The Montreal Canadiens are pleased to announce the signing of forward Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau to a six years contract worth $4,500,000 per season.

The discussions went extremely well with Pierre-Alexandre and we are proud to bring in such a talented Quebec born player. He will play on our first line with David Desharnais, a close friend to him, and Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty prove last season that he was a goalscorer and he will get more quality scoring chances next season with two great playmakers. Pierre-Alexandre is coming from two excellent season and we are confident that he will keep the same production than last year in Montreal.

This signing means that Erik Cole will move to the second line with Adam Henrique and Nino Niederreiter, while captain Brian Gionta will move to the third line with Lars Eller and Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson. We will have three very well balanced offensive lines.

It also means that Louis Leblanc will start the season in Hamilton. He will have the chance to gain confidence in a more offensive role and play a lot more minutes.

The Rangers are ecstatic to announce a couple of signings!

The Rangers have come to terms with UFA LWer, and former Captain Canada, Ryan Smyth!

We are very happy to add Ryan to our locker room and our team and believe he can provide great depth scoring as our #2/3 LW while getting PP time as well. We love his leadership and his constant work ethic which we feel will fit in well in our locker room.

1 year @ 3 million

The Rangers have also come to terms with gritty 4th line center Adam Burish. We feel Adam, who can play wing or center, will add versatility and more grit to our bottom line playing alongside Brian Boyle and Brandon Prust.

2 years @ 1 million/season

Sign Jason Garrison 4 years 4.5 million per year.

We're thrilled to get a guy with experience in a shutdown pairing, as well as thriving with an offensive blue liner in Campbell. Garrison will likely line up with Alex Edler next season.

Continue our FA signings by landing future HOFer Jaromir Jagr to a 1 year 3M contract. Jagr had a great year back in the NHL last season and has committed himself to coming to camp in better shape for the upcoming season. We feel his puck possession style will fit greatly with both the Sedins or Ryan Kesler on the 2nd line.

St. Louis Inks Alex Semin
tumblr_lcjouwWnok1qcfzyfo1_500.jpg

The St. Louis Blues are pleased to announce the signing of forward, Alexander Semin.

The deal is a 10 year deal in which Alex will recieve 6.5M per year with a full NTC.

Alex is one of the premiere snipers in the league and has probably the best wrist shot of anyone playing the game now.

We feel he'll compliment our players well in St. Louis and will add that elusive goal scorer this club has missed since Brett Hull.

With that, our roster is now set.

Alexander Semin - David Backes - Vladimir Tarasenko
Jaden Schwartz - Derek Roy - Chris Stewart
Alex Steen - Patrik Berglund - Viktor Tikhonov
Drayson Bowman - Vladimir Sobotka - Ryan Reaves
BJ Crombeen/Chris Porter

Keith Yandle - Alex Pietrangelo
Andrej Sekera - Kevin Shattenkirk
Kris Russel - Roman Polak

JACKETS GO BIG, LAND YASHIN AND CONKLIN

Columbus, OH The Columbus Blue Jackets shocked the hockey world early Sunday morning as they signed the top fish in free agency, Alexei Yashin and Ty Conklin, to identical 12 year $69M contracts. "We're glad to have Alexei and Ty in the fold," said Columbus GM Scott Howson in a phone interview. "Alexei is a guy with big contract experience and can help influence the lazy Russian instincts out of Alex Galchenyuk on the top line. He also told me he'd lend me a turtle neck, which I'm very much looking forward to. With Ty, we have a guy who can play all 82 games. I heard that whoever has Ty Conklin gets the Winter Classic, and we think it'll be good marketing for our team to be in that event for 12 consecutive years. When I'm the coach of a deck hockey team in Alaska in 2016, I hope the Blue Jackets appreciate my work here today."

Future Blue Jacket Nathan MacKinnon declined to comment.

Justin Schultz coming to Vancouver! A Kelowna boy, Schultz wanted to return to Canada and ultimately felt our roster gave him a nice role as he entered the league.

Signed to the rookie max contract at 2 years @ 925M, with 2M in bonuses (80 GP + 35 points met).

With that our roster is complete. View the general forum for a summary of our BUSY off-season.
