"Guay is a skilled scoring forward who merged to the attack with incredible fluidity, showcasing tremendous instincts, skating and passing. He was a constant scoring menace offensively. Not only did he unveiled a snappy, pinpoint accurate shot, but his intuitive positioning brought him most of his scoring chances. Guay frequently came back low on breakouts to give an easy target to his defender and gain momentum with smooth crossovers. He put on display a good acceleration and excellent speed through transition, but always preferred to keep the puck active with quick passes. This his where most of his magic took place (off-puck), as his glossy skating allowed him to slip through defences and insert himself into openings. His fantastic footwork and edges helped him always be in a position to fire on reception. Although Guay is mostly known for his shooting abilities, he showed the lovely tendency to get his teammates heavily involved in the action with dynamic passes and smarts setups. He clearly wasn’t the strongest on the puck, but seemed to be rarely affected by his lack of size and strength. Guay intercepted a ton of pucks in the offensive zone thanks to his great hand-eye coordination, but his impact in his own end was less steady. He made some good interventions and even played minutes on the PK, but his shaky effort level, wobbly focus (puck-watching) and misreads made him a modest defender. Guay possesses some high-end offensive skills, and as a double overager, he would definitely get a NHL rookie camp invite from me."
