So their parents had 4 boys and named two of them Jack?
Hughes is not an uncommon last name, and people from New England naming their Jack kids (or using it as a nickname) is very common (due to an affinity for a certain president with that nickname). Hughes isn't an uncommon Irish last name, and both kids families have their origins in New England (despite 1st overall Jack Hughes being born in Orlando, and raised in the GTA).

@GeorgeLeafer12, can you change the name of the thread? I think the thread title is disrespectful. If someone is confused, let them figure out themselves the difference between the two players. This guy is not the player on the Devils. He shouldn't have to be known as "the other Jack Hughes." Do you think his friends and family know him as that?

I hope Rangers draft him just because it would confuse so many posters here. And I hope the fans of the team that draft him, make no effort to differentiate the two Jack Hughes.

"Jack Hughes is going win the Conn Smythe easily."'
"Which one?"
"The other one"
"The Devils one or Team X one?"
"Yes."

Bust.

Leafs tried picking Petr Svoboda the second, once, and we know how that turned out.

He’s a little reminiscent of Beniers in that he’s a late birthday who will benefit a lot with his draft stock due to that. He’s definitely not one of the better players on his NTDP team. But he can do some of everything without many weaknesses and judged against mostly a different pool of players, he might be a first round level of player. Beniers is a little more offensively talented than Hughes shows, but I could definitely see Hughes as a mid/late first rounder in 2022.

Is he slated to play in the NCAA next year ? If so, any other examples of prospects playing 2 years in the NCAA before their draft ?
