Pretty sure Sislo is UFA. He may not want to continue in Tucson. He might prefer a job in the north east where the travel is a lot less demanding. I probably sucks to play in the western conference of the AHL when you could play in New England. Percentage of nights in your own bed vs nights is a hotel is probably significantly higher in Springfield vs Tucson. Keep in mind, these guys are riding buses. Sislo had spent most of his career in New Hampshire, Albany, and New Jersey previously. He's 30 years old and probably has a family. I would guess his signing in Tucson was a last ditch effort to make an NHL roster of a team that's very weak up front in the Coyotes. That didn't work.Sislo is better than Fasching. Fasching is younger, that is it. 30pts in 69g as a 22yr old isn't very good and doesn't project well.
or is it just his rights too?
The Sabres had a crap team and he could not crack it. The AHL team benched him. Nice guy, big dude, below average skater with no hands. Was expected to use his size on wing to win wall battles and establish net presence. Didn't happen even in ahl. Maybe he will come out of his shell with the Coyotes....Like the trade. Fasching has upside. Looks like we potentially got something for nothing, at least, if they didn't re-sign.
I really rated Fasching and hope he can Landon Wilson his way into a career out here
RFA. We wouldn't have made deal without intention of signing him. What's Fasching's contract status? I was under the impression Hickey can become a free agent by not signing with us and was good as gone, while Sislo was already gone, so this could be a something for nothing trade depending on Fasching's contract.
No, I don’t think so. He’s probably earning a crack at a bigger pay day in Europe by being productive in the American League though.Fasching named Tucson's Man of the Year and was on the verge of his first 20 goal season as a pro when the league shut down.
Always liked him as a player from his days with the USA and U18 and U20 teams but he could never stick with the Sabres and has yet to play for Arizona.
He is entering the final year of his contract with the Coyotes. Any likelihood that he cracks the lineup next season?
