Cole Caufield makes his NCAA debut tomorrow
- University of Wisconsin @ Boston College - 6PM (NESN+)
Best pure scorer we've produced in a long time vs. the best American prospect in net we've produced in a long time, beyond that two of the top freshman classes in the country facing off to open the year, doesn't get much better. A lot of former NTDP teammates cracking open their NCAA careers in this one, top canadian 01s Alex Newhook, draft eligible Dylan Holloway.. let's go

Yep. They played one year of high school together and both put up ridiculous numbers. I doubt they are actually going to see any ice time together these days, Brock is a pretty solid player but I would be surprised. Never know though. I think it would be interesting if they split up Turcotte and Cole, develop two or three scoring lines

Not to take away from what CC is doing and this is not negative in the slightest towards him, but I think what Olofsson is doing on the Sabres powerplay with his fantastic shot, is really shows that no matter what, Caufield will have a place in an NHL lineup because of how good he is on the PP. He's going to come into the Habs lineup and put up a ton of goals on that PP.

We saw a lot more PP specialists in the early 2000's like with a Jason Allison, players who couldn't necessarily thrive at 5 on 5 for whatever deficiency they had (Allison it was skating) and I wonder if we'll start to see more of a pattern change towards that. Especially with some teams having like bottom of the lineup players getting minimal minutes. Not that I don't think Caufield can't play 5 on 5, but I do still wonder about his size and play against bigger bodies in even strength play.
