Your words belie your stated opinion. Not my fault you move the goalposts.

Yeah, or clarified my take as the discussion was liquid and ongoing. But sure. You believe what you want to believe. In reality, you argued against @OneManIsNoMan and he exposed your argument as nonsense despite you insisting it was fact, so rather than just taking your beating, you shifted over to to me perpetuate a false narrative despite me saying what I've clarified again for you a slew of times. Wouldn't it just be easier for you to move on and lick your wounds?

If you would stop making definitive statements and then back pedaling, there would be no need for these types of conversations, Lonnie. And I did give a mea culpa, where is was justified.

Okay, fair point if you get a guy whose own ego won't let him turtle, but they have that option now whereas in past generations they didn't feel like they could. And for what it's worth, even if a player is scared of Wilson pounding them into goo, they can still scrum at him and know nothing bad is really going to happen if they don't drop the gloves. Pasta stood up to him and so did Grizz. Both of them knew they weren't going to have to fight Wilson and no one would blame them or think badly of them for not doing it (or for turtling if Wilson attacked) and I saw nothing afterwards that showed me either guy was playing scared or differently because Wilson got in their faces.
Pasta stood up to him,but saying Grizz did is a stretch, Looked like 5 guys that were scared. If players don't experience fear then they simply are not human, maybe they overcome their fear, but it's there, maybe they are not ducking but it's present in their thoughts. Meanwhile on one shift Ovie rag dolled three Bruins and then Oshie caves in McAvoy. If you're gonna tell me that if Wilson took a beating,a Koci like beating from Chara and still ran around, then he's crazy. Scrums do nothing, pain makes you change.

Have to wonder why Savard has his career ended when we had guys like Lucic and Chara in their prime than. Clearly didn't stop Dallas from taking shots either as we all remember the brawl that took place between those two. Even at his age Chara is the biggest guy in the NHL and one of the strongest. He has a reach that 99.9% of the league can't match and can rag doll people....doesn't stop players from getting run.

There are always outliers or examples of the opposite, but by and large players will modify when challenged, threatened or intimidated. Chara is barely intimidating anymore unless he runs someone like he did Riley Nash. Cheapshotting Pastrnak MUST be addressed by Chara,in the absence of anyone else and in a very meaningful way.

Appreciate your point of view my friend. I am not in total agreement, but it's why I like this place so much :)

Who cares? You have people that played at the highest level saying intimidation exists vs internet message posters that say it doesn't. Do you really think they are the only current or ex players that feel this way? Again, it's not 100%, nothing ever is, you will still have the sociopaths...but even if you reduce some of the other chances?
not to mention, as has been stated numerous times on this board, any time that a Tom Wilson type is spent occupied with an "enforcer" is time he's not spending running your star players or tackling them in scrums.

Hamilton just having a Norris type season... Monster advanced stats...filling the net... +30... Team needs a better goalie and true 1C IMO to be a threat but man he's off the charts good right now. Only missed one game as well since he left Boston,

It's crazy how much Dougie has improved defensively since going to the Canes. My guess is that being around the likes of Pesce and Slavin has really helped Dougie. He's crushing it for sure.

Bruins don’t have an answer for the physicality of Wilson or Ovie. Not a major slam as most teams don’t either.

Wilson is a force. He can play the game, hits like a truck, and will throw down when challenged. Usually does well too. He’s also had enough dirty psycho crap that should make most very aware he’s on ice.

Only possibly solution is a hitter like Wagner catching him hard, but Wilson is a predator type and usually pretty aware.

Of course Wagner argument is offset by Josh Anderson

So Brett Ritchie and David Backes are both on waivers. Any interest in bringing those guys back? Could provide some much needed size and grit to the roster, no? :naughty:

Well with those guys on the roster the Bruins would finally be intimidating again. I say bring them back.

I mean, ****. This is the place where posters pine for the former players regardless of what kind of shell of their former selves they are now, right?
Maybe we could just make a scarecrow version of Backes for the bench so we get all the intimidation while saving a million in cap space. Win-win. No one would ever run a Bruin again out of fear of retribution!
