I think the entire Winnipeg and Evander Kane thing is done and everything has been said at some point. I don't think there was a need for this interview and it's not like something unknown came out of it. Unnecessary for both sides but whatever.
But other than that I actually do believe that Evander Kane has changed a little bit and is a different person right now in his life playing for the San Jose Sharks. Even he at some point must have understood, that he needs to adapt a bit more to the NHL lifestyle and what people expect from him and what people don't want to see him doing or saying or else his NHL career would not hold on to be as long and lucrative as he would like it to be. Is he still a overconfident cocky guy? Probably. Is he still a problem for the team around him trying to be an actual "Team" in like "There is no 'I' in Team" - I don't think so. So after all, you could say everything turned out well for both sides. The Jets can be happy with how they moved on from him and he can be happy about having adapted and majored to the NHL player he needed to become in order to have the career he's looking for. Playing in California must help him quite a bit as well. I know, it's not a popular opinion but as an outsider having watched his years in Winnipeg, I'd always say that Winnipeg as a surrounding for Evander Kane at that point in his life is also to blame. Especially Chevy... why would you hold on to him for multiple years and ignore the growing problems around him, when the guy openly asks for a trade every summer?
