Just watching Swiss League final.

Geneve vs. Biel-Bienne.

Geneve leading home start 3-0.

Filppula plays for Geneve, Sheahan/Brunner/Säteri/van Pottelberghe are Biel-players, but only Säteri and Damien Brunner plays.

Hah, when I was writing the start of the thread, I missed a disallowed 3-0 goal. :D

When looked back, Brunner scored 2-1. Quite a big swing from "almost 3-0" to 2-1 under a minute.

Geneve wins 2-1.
Leadng the series 1-0.

2-1 Biel now. Biel won at home and then managed to get the "break" as well. Van Pottelberghe stole the game in Geneva making 47 saves in a 2-1 OT win and handed Geneva their first loss at home these playoffs.

Tough decision for Biels head coach Törmänen upcoming now. He could come back with his countryman Säteri who has been very good as his starter all season and also during playoffs or he could stick with Van Pottelberghe who has missed an entire year and only returned just ahead of playoffs. Van Pottelberghe has been very sharp though and outplayed Säteri. Sample size is very small of course but playing Van Pottelberghe would also allow Törmänen to dress Riley Sheahan who otherwise, based on the current import rules, would have to watch from the press box. Since the other imports are locks it's either Säteri or Sheahan for Biel.

Guessing Törmänen still goes back to Säteri for at least one more game but we'll see.

Val Filppula also won Champions Hockey League yesterday.

Think he is now The only player in the World who has won:

- Stanley Cup (2008, Detroit)
- Olympic Gold (2022, Finland)
- World Championship (2022, Finland)
- Champions Hockey League (2024, Geneve)

Also, which did lead for Champions HL possibility, was winning Swiss National Championship season before (2023).

Guy is still "too good" for European Leagues as 40-year old.

Axel Sandin-Pellikka lost the CHL final, playing for Skellefteå.

Big mistake Holland didn't give him new contact.

He did but Filppula wasn't a fan of Babcock, i think Kenny offered a 7-year deal. When Filppula was in Tampa and Yzerman was going to trade him, Toronto was interested but because Babs was there Filppula didn't want to go there. Then Yzerman traded Filppula to Philly but it was nice that Filppula was able to finish his NHL career in Detroit and that Val reached 1000 while wearing a winged wheel.
