Finland to go with

Noronen

Niemi-Nummelin
Mäntylä-Karalahti
Söderholm-Loponen
Saravo-Porkka

Peltonen-Jokinen-Kallio
Hagman-Pirjetä-Rintanen
Pärssinen-Pirnes-Hentunen
Laaksonen-Viuhkola-Virta

I'm surprised that Viuhkola is still in the lineup.

If Finland wins after 3 period there will be a 20 minute overtime. If the overtime doesn't decide the winner then there will be a shoot out.

You could also put it this way: Sweden starts with one goal advantage, like the score was 0-1 when the game stars.

1-0 Finland after the first period. It's been a long time sine I saw the Swedish national team this pale.

Would have felt kind of wrong if Sweden won in OT because Finland was so much better during regular time.

Finland played a good game overall, Noronen was solid although he wasn't tested until the overtime period where Sweden all of a sudden decided to play some hockey.

For Sweden most players had below average performances. I think Niclas Hävelid was just brutal, Stefan Liv mediocre, and many of the forwards did not work hard enough.

Congratulations Finland :)

well, I did not really see any big saves by Liv and no mistakes either, that's pretty average to me. At least compared to Lundqvist the other game who I definitely think looked better.

No clue about the goalie change, I'm very curious though :)

ah.. I thought you meant the sudden goalie change for Sweden there first Zero :)

Finland changed goalie because they did not want to ruin Noronen's shutout. Obviously they hoped to put a puck in their own net at the end of the third period so they wouldn't start the overtime period shorthanded.

that's my guess at least :)

That thought occurred to me as well. I would have pulled the goalie and allowed Sweden to score twice to end those powerplays. Not sure if Sweden would have scored though.

Very good game by Finland. Really enjoyed the way they went about it. Jokinen was really playing well.

Noronen's got to be the favourite for #1 now, two consecutive clean sheets (although 1 was against Denmark) versus Markkanen's nervous game on Friday.
