Whats going to happen after 2025? Partners coming in?
I'm sorry you can spend 100M over the cap, but EK is gone, and you will never be forgiven POS.
Last time Melnyk was in the limelight, Karlsson was traded the next day (or was it the day after?)
So Bettman's planning a 4 year lockout, I guess.
Duchene and stone trades incoming....damage control attempt
Question is, was Boro holding the mic while Melnyk delivered his eulogies on Stone and Duchene as Sens players of the past?
He literally gives the same stump speech every time.
This team is done.......
Sorry Eugene, you’ve already played the “I’ll spend when it’s time to compete” card and (like everything else out of your mouth) it is complete and utter BS.
Take your snakeoil elsewhere. No one is buying this crap.
Why only 5 years?
I'll believe it when I see it.
Prove it. You can start by signing Duchene and Stone.
Whoa whoa buddy. He said 2021, not 2019.
Where is he going to get the money from?
I call bs.
Can we get that down in some sort of legally binding contract?
Umm what about, you know, NEXT YEAR WHICH IS 2020!
This quote basically says “we are trading the 3 UFAs momentarily, but please buy tickets I promise to spend a lot of money in the future, just not now obviously.”
If I saw it, I wouldn't believe it.
This I have less an issue with. As the game gets younger and the big name players get insane money right away, it makes planning far ahead impossible.
I'd like to think we should spend to the cap every year but that's not reasonable, and probably not a good idea in the long run, we should value flexibility higher than most teams.
It's a lie. He's a big fat liar.
Struggling with ticket sales, Euge?
Sure, he will go to the cap...after the following year gut the team. Same old B.S
In Toronto he makes a promise to Sens fans, and the man wonders why no one in Ottawa likes him.
He’s also made this promise before and broken it. He’s completely out of touch
I wonder what Melnyk's definition of "close to the salary cap" is.
