You forgot that it was the pilot's fault and the casino's fault as well

Melnyk's is extraordinarily unlucky when it comes to the people in his life. All these terrible people who wouldn't have been exposed as terrible if not for the great humanitarian Eugene, a man as pure as the driven snow.

You can't judge what Dorion is saying publicly until he's no longer under the thumb of the person who alienates almost everyone he comes in contact with. Dorion has to know that one wrong word and he could be like all the C-level executives that are come and gone during his time here.

You mean "One shouldn't" vs "You can't"

I can lol and I do .. You want to give him a break fine go for it

You understand that you’re doing the exact same thing, just taking the opposite side of the coin right?
Asking for more information on a topic of which there's little more than the basics is the other side of the coin? You know, in the real world, the criminal who's accused and convicted 3 separate times still gets due process when they're accused the 4th time. Is it likely that the person did actually commit that 4th crime? Given the history of the person in question, yes. But that's not how facts work and I don't just blindly accept that whatever has been said by third parties to the fact is what's actually the story.

Sorry if that doesn't fit the hive mind of incessant Melnyk bashing (which has seemingly accomplished nothing except to piss everybody off). You guys sure looked great when you were lapping up the story of how Melnyk was charging the last foundation "hundreds of thousands per year in office space" only for the person who reported it to say "oops, I didn't have my facts right". That's why I ask questions and wait for more information before I bust out the pitchforks and torches.

It's too bad, it really is! Just when there's a bit of light at the end of a long tunnel with the team having youthful, young talent, a stark reminder to Sens' fans that an imbecile still captains the ship. My fear has always been that Melnyk will absolutely destroy, like everything else he's ever touched, this so-called rebuild.

Can we page Rick Westhead to do his next piece on the shenanigans within the sens’ brass? Half-kidding but I’d really love someone to blow the door open on how many execs have come and gone in the last 5 years or so

I find the biggest problem with the Sens at the top is the lack of honest communication with the fans/community.. They seem to be continually in a position to try to smooth over and explain what's going on from a position of weakness that they put themselves in.. Melnyk can't get out of the way of his ego , my way or the highway personality to communicate and Dorion just comes across like the bull crapping pansy used car salesman that he is; if he can get the words out of his mouth.. He often sends the wrong message or he just exaggerates the positives he sees in what he is doing . The fans are left with a pile of negativity to weed through and try to make some sense of. Remarkably there continue to be a select few that defend the organization and believe they are the ultimate fans for doing so. Dorion speaks often about character. Its odd that almost everyone with character leaves with a bad taste in their mouth. Character has to start at the top imo. You just will not keep those high character assets you seek with the lack of character shown by the decision makers. This crap about the team you play for has to trickle down and effect your positive thinking about where you are and where you see your future.

Team friendly deals? Ha

Just wanted to say what a great post. We’ve got some shady ppl running the team now and it’s sickening to us fans who have grown up with the likes of Alfredsson, Philips, Leeder, Bryan Murray, and to certain degree, Boro and Turris. We had such high character ppl within our org that were somehow ousted (Murray passed I know) and now we’re subjected to such low-class crap that’s destroying the community relations

Thing is I don’t give two shits what some old white dude does in some random Casino. Why do you?
Screw him he can pay them or not.
On a side note I do think them pouring free Booze for people that are absolutely bombed in order to separate them from there cash should not be allowed. Although I do like the free drinks

I have zero issues with a charity being closed short term during a pandemic do to lack of funds and have no idea why anyone acts like it is bad or cares.

Please explain why the charity that is raising no money and would have to use later donations to pay back debt instead of helping people should stay open...
Do the millionaires that work for them need paychecks that badly or....

The biggest problem isn't lack of communication, it's the way they run the org.

We don't need better PR to spin things positively. We need an owner who runs things properly.

You're bang-on... but with a caveat. The problem IS that the organization has so many serious internal issues... but they choose to view as communications issues instead. From an organizational perspective, it's not that things are broken or in need of repair — it's that the fans just aren't getting the right message! And that's a flawed approach to begin with, but it falls apart under even the most basic scrutiny when everything is treated as a communications issue and the communications are bad. That's what we're seeing here. Communication shouldn't be meant to lie and deceive, so choosing to do that makes the fans see the errors AND that we aren't being respected enough to be told what's really happening.

At this point, I think we're talking about curing the disease vs. curing the symptom. Both have merit, but until you cure the disease anything else is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

post a link to the 5 month old charity salary structure please. No? Why not?
How much money did the charity burn in 5 months?!? Lmfao
How about this - you tell me how you launch a 2nd charity (after poor PR on the last one) with all eyes on the org - AND 5 MONTHS LATER CLOSE IT?
They didn’t launch it per-Covid or post Covid - they launched it 5 months ago during the pandemic with what ZERO reserves?

Sounds like a lot of thought went into all of this, especially to run out of money 5 months later. It’s a joke. An NHL team couldn’t support their not at arms length foundation for 5 months. Why bother in the first place.

Other people bid/make a pitch to use the sens and the NHL for their charity, not Melnyk not the sens
If it matters so much why does no one give money to support those people?
Weird “we demand a charity that can’t support itself”
Seems like Ottawa has a lot of demands with other people’s money
