At least in the short term he should be getting that Seattle expansion fee. That plus the ship's captain's contribution should be plenty to pay Tkachuk and co. I think the lawsuit is more reflective that Melnyk is a self absorbed lunatic, at least he was able to afford the yacht cruise in the first place.

The expansion Fee the Owner receives, is his to with as he pleases…. He is not obligated to spend a nickel on the team. The Expansion fee is compensation for having a smaller piece of the NHL shared revenues pie.

The super yacht company is hardly a small business, nor is the casino, but I get the sentiment, and he seems unable to get out of his own way to put it mildly.
