As a writer you are responsible for the articles you write and the opinions it carries. If Brennan could have quoted himself, he'd have probably said the same thing. He could have quoted Pierre McGuire saying it was a great pick, but to have patience...but he chose the know-nothing fan that pretended to know something. If Brennan disagreed, he probably would have went another direction.

"garbage pick" should be engraved on Brennan's tombstone.

"garbage journalist" is also acceptable.

Not a fan of Brennan, but in all fairness he's quoting a fan, not saying Karlsson was a garbage pick

So not only was he wrong, but he didn't even have the balls to stand behind it and instead hid behind a fan. As if a fan's opinion was worth a rat's ass. He knew exactly what he was writing. You'll notice he didn't quote McGuire gushing about Karlsson.

That fan was a buddy of his, btw. He was interviewed on the Team after Karlsson won the Norris.

Brennan's trash. He wanted the Sens to pick Tyler Cuma, pimped him all year, and he was bitter when they didn't.

If you go your whole life reading just the headlines you're not going to know too much.

If you go through your whole life not seeing past the first layer of anything, you're not going to know too much.

The headline is still the fans quotation... it catches the reader better than "How good could he be?"... Quotation marks are made for a reason. "Karlsson: A garbage pick." implies writers opinion. "Karlson: 'A garbage pick'." implies writer writing about other peoples opinions (which of course the writer can agree on, but doesn't have to).

A writer can make the headline off a quotation that sticks out from what they are reporting. The thing that sticks out is the fan that says Karlsson's a garbage pick because he's embarrassed by all of his non-Sens fans friends mocking him for his teams pick.

The headline doesn't tell you the whole story.

If you go your whole life reading just the headlines you're not going to know too much.

Also I believe the editor selects most titles and headings
