Even with them moving we still have some excellent players in our system who could take over them roles.

The problem is we’re already looking at having to cheaply replace a LOT of veteran players with rookies just to afford our existing core. Stralman, Coburn, Girardi, Callahan, and Miller will all have to go so we can afford Kucherov, Point, Sergachev, and Vasilevskiy; depending on what those guys sign for we may or may not be able to keep Gourde and Cirelli when they need their next raises. And this is all without adding Karlsson’s $10M+ to the pile. We simply can’t afford to give away a lot of young, cheap talent.

No, the main piece is Foote. Miller is just a nice secondary piece to give you some existing NHL roster talent.

I don't see why callahan and Miller need to go. These miller proposals started showing up because of the news of the rangers backing out with callahan.
