That's funny because this sentiment was never given to Doughty over the past few years. No one ever said "I'm sure he'd look a lot better if the Kings were actually a good team."

I think it's actually a fairly common sentiment, that was the main complaint from LA fans the past few years. He didn't slow down or lose a step, he just stopped putting in effort.

He's obviously not the player he once was, but he's a notoriously slow starter.

It's an annual tradition for this thread to pop up and people claiming he's finished, and then they get to watch him go on to put up big numbers the rest of the year.
And that isn’t what you want in a short season.

I think it’s pretty obvious what it means. He’s not playing anywhere close to his salary.
Tell us something we don’t already know

2 g 3 a + 7 in his last 7. Guess when he isn’t playing injured (and bad) you guys have to just move the goal posts and start attacking from other angles.

I find it so strange how everyone has turned on him and seemingly love it when he's playing poorly.

When Karlsson went to the All-Star game one year he decided to dress as a pirate so that he could stand out.

The fact he was at the All-Star game wasn't enough attention for him he had to do something else to stand out from the other players going to the game.

When someone has an ego this large people enjoy it when they fail.

OH NO. HE DRESSED AS A PIRATE TO A FUN, FAN EVENT.

He should be blasted into space for such audacity.

I bet you’re real fun at parties.

You think that's funny? I've got a better one: one guy masqueraded as a Dman in the the world's premier hockey league for several seasons! In truth he was a rover, perhaps even a forward. Hilarious! And the fan fun part? A lot of his die hard fans didn't even see through the disguise...talk about fan fun

You honestly talk like someone who doesn’t actually watch hockey but merely regurgitates what you read here or on social media.

I'm curious to hear how you know his motives for the costume.

Nice try dude. However, I quit FB in 2008. Among the first to participate and definitely among the first to leave.

This is a joke right?? That was when the big pirate festival was in Tampa Bay that weekend with 1000's of people dressed like a pirate.

Yeah, he really stood out in the same costume every other person in the city was wearing.

What has happened to the internet?

It’s honestly a very sad thing. Both his decline and the way some people seem to relish it.

We talk about wanting dynamic players in the game, the types who draw you out of your seat, who are worth watching even for neutral and casual fans. We finally get a defenseman like that, and he gets targeted till he breaks and then crucified for it.
