And after 2 games both players are a team leading +4..Go figure?

EN goal.

Sutter goal where Tanev-Edler had a stellar PK shift and changed 2 seconds before the goal as Sutter was about to shoot.

Pettersson's first goal where Gudbranson came out of the penalty box, the puck never went anywhere near him, and Pettersson scored about 10-15 seconds later.

In other words, mostly dumb luck. And incredibly soft minutes.

Gudbranson as policeman in game one made a statement. Canucks need to restate this frequently. This team now has a star to protect. This is hard to do without a resident badass. Gudbranson seems to be Canucks' guy in this department. I'm not totally convinced.

here's a hot tip: don't pay that policeman $4MM with term or pay essentially 24th 33rd 94th to acquire said police man.

Gudbranson (and Pouliot) has underachieved considering his draft position..nobody is going to argue that..

However, even anything he does do well is greeted here with saltiness...Preconditioned bias' are alive and well .

I think it's really important to have guys that can protect our younger players. Gudbranson will probably not get better defensively anytime soon, but if he can maintain his presence it can help and thwart off punks who will try to intimiate Pettersson/Boeser or our younger guys.

Imagine... if Gudbranson played for the Flames and clocked Pettersson hard coming through the neutral zone...Tanev stands up for his rookie teammate and engages Gudbranson, but unfortunately gets his face broken in the process..Tanev is out for a month....HFVan,Reddit and CDC are shitting themselves sideways because we don't have a single player to stand up to Gudbranson..

Its not just Gudranson, its Roussel, and Beagle as well...They don't have to fight, but it makes the Canucks a lot stiffer to play against..This team has been as soft as baby shit for the last few years.

Last few years? Yawn can we keep the anti management argument out of this thread please? :shakehead

Gudbranson is not a good player but i think there is an argument for him having a place if he can keep a physical intimidation of the opposition. But if it doesnt work.... whats his role exactly?

But the reality is that Gudbranson took a run at their rookie.

Dont you think the Flames are likely to retaliate by being physical against Pettersson.

apparently not, maybe they don't want to wire their jaws shut like the other guy.Gudbranson apologized to the kid,If they want to take it further, it's their funeral.

Its not a complicated concept.

Rethink it through honeybuns and come up with a better answer.

That picture is awesome. ... Gudbranson is far more valuable to this team than some here realize.Gudbranson has become the McSorly to out great one.Had to edit, should have said Odjick to our Bure.Odjick was one of my all-time favourite Canucks.
