Not only leading the league in goals, but tied for the league scoring race with Gilbert Brule (with three fewer GP than Brule). Not too shabby for a #18 NHL draft pick in one of the better junior-level developmental leagues.

Not that is matters now, but he SHOULD HAVE been on that World Junior Team.

He probably would have been most other years but I don't think he would've really helped this team out. His main use is for his offensive abilities and especially his shot but he likely wouldn't have been on a top line unless he was with Carter and Getzlaf but Ladd probably worked better there anyways.

if anyone has seen him play, any thoughts? does he have 1st line potential?

Absolutely. Big shot, great skills, solid two way play, abit of fiestiness in his game. And great size which when he fills out will make for a formidable presence. Great pick by the Capitals.

Well, he's no Ray Ferraro, but I think we should applaud him for his WHL production regardless ;)
