I'm also interested to see where he takes them if he can keep most of them together

Dunno. It's hard to envision them ever being better than the 'best of the rest'.

Maybe he can get them to the point where they'll occasionally sneak into Europe , but it's so damn hard to break into that elite bracket.

With the program Wolves have built , and Everton's new billionaire owner with high ambitions , I imagine they'll form a separate group of 3-4 clubs that are constantly trying to break down the door into europe year after year.

I have no doubt Rodgers can build a sustainable program known for playing good football, though.

Best hope for Leicester really is to one day churn out enough great young talent that they can climb into a similar situation that Tottenham has managed to achieve. They have a long way to go for that, but they definitely were very smart with the money they made from their title run and good player sales.

Major difference being that Spurs are located in London , and Leicester's ... well , Leicester.

Tough to attract/keep top talent , regardless of how well they build.

Hoping for an Everton win here.

That's definitely fair, it will be tougher to keep people there.

Well, Everton has done Chelsea a favor here by beating Arsenal, but now Chelsea actually needs to beat West Ham to take advantage.

I think there is no question that Arsenal have been punching above their weight. None of the other top clubs concede 23 shots against any club in the league.
While I agree they're doing well for themselves what I was saying before is that Everton's style of play really seemed to throw Arsenal off combined with their poor away form. Everton play dirty or on the edge a lot; Calvert-Lewin especially is filth.

I still think Arsenal should have the inside track at top 4 but who knows at this point.

They also play away from home 4 times in the last 6 games and have only won once away from home since November.

Plus all the teams they play away except Burnley (Watford, Wolves, Leicester) have good overall and home records, especially if you combine last year too.

All fair points.

I'll admit it would've been nice to spend more than a couple of days in third, but I can't say this loss came as a shock
