They hired the wrong manager. Mourinho's schtick hasn't worked for years. He's able to still get results due to managing teams with massive piles of money they are willing to waste on transfers.

You can't expect a guy with an ego that dwarves the massive ego's of the millionaire footballers he's trying to manage to be that effective.

There are a dozen of guys that would've been better hires than Jose. I kind of understood why Chelsea took a second chance at him. But United?
