MN Hockey Prospects - Endless motor, plays every other shift and does not seem to get tied. Rau is very agile, generating a great deal of power and speed while turning. Threads the needle with precision passing, makes teammates better with his ability to create space and maneuver in tight areas. May be the best stickhandeling prospect in the state. Rau is a smart player that comes from a hockey rich family. If Rau were 6’2 he would be a first round draft prospect, but unfortunately he is only 5’8, so his effectiveness may be limited. Rau was First Team All-State as a junior.
